The European Union and the Dutch government have set new rules for the single use of food packaging and disposable cups with plastic, the Single Use Plastic legislation. The goal is a 40% reduction in the use of these one-way packaging, with reusable packaging becoming the norm. With the introduction of the Douwe Egberts hard cup, we are meeting the wishes of the market and the government to reduce single-use plastic and we are taking a step in JDE Professional's sustainability ambition. The Douwe Egberts hard cup is made of 100% recyclable polypropylene, produced in Germany with European raw materials. The Douwe Egberts hard cup will last at least 400 washes in a professional dishwasher.
