During the same period, Nutricia was also manufacturing long-life chocolate milk and registered their product as Melcola. Ultimately, Nutricia acquired the brand name Chocomel from Breij's widow. However, the brand name turned out to be unavailable in Belgium, so the name Cécémel was chosen. Chocomel is still sold in the Netherlands, Belgium and to a limited extent in Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria and Denmark. The brand is so well known in the Netherlands that 'chocomel' is often synonymous with chocolate milk in general.
