As with the Jonge, for the Oude jenever malt wine is also distilled with the addition of juniper berries and herbs. However, the quantities are different, making the Oude more flavorful. A spicy, soft gin, a little sweet, a nice balance between grain, malt and berry. Rutte has been distilling jenevers and liqueurs since 1872. This is still done in the same way today, 'with a passion for craft'. No flavors or colorings are used. All the flavor and color comes from fresh fruit, herbs and nuts. You can see, smell and taste it!
